Whimsical Walking Stick Brings Joy and Security

I never imagined I would use a cane. Yet, when my spinal column is fatigued and my legs are wobbly, this simple device is going to ensure that I get where I need to go on time. It is wonderful that the general public sees a cane and makes room for me to squeeze into an elevator or between aisles. The cane serves as a warning sign: “be careful disabled person ahead”. However, for me, it offers a sense of security when I am unsteady, and it serves as leverage when help is needed. In fact, if I am wobbly and walk somewhere without my sturdy whimsical rabbit cane, people give me dirty looks like “What’s wrong with her?” Is she drinking?” So let’s all understand that merely because my disability is invisible, let’s not think it is non-existent. Canes serve many purposes.
