I just participated in an online survey that is seeking ways to work with health care providers and their patients with MS. These studies are so important for me because I can participate and contribute educating the health care industry about patients with MS.
Kristin Johnson is a researcher from Colorado State University in the Health and Exercise Science Department. We are conducting a research study to better understand the effect of different hormonal stages of life (menstrual cycle, hormonal contraception, pregnancy, postpartum, post-menopause) on the symptoms and daily functioning of women diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. The title of our project is: A Survey on the Influence of Hormonal Stages of Life on Multiple Sclerosis Symptomology and Physical Function. The Principal Investigator is Dr. Brett Fling in the Health and Exercise Science Department, and I am the Co-Principal Investigator. This work is funded by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The information gained from this study may help to improve the communication between healthcare providers and women living with Multiple Sclerosis and it may lead to future studies that improve treatment approaches for women living with Multiple Sclerosis.
The National MS Society sends out these opportunities to membership so we can track current research.
