I am reminded that family and friends move around a lot and are engaged with work and other obligations. In trying to be present, I find that I have worked hard to find those special moments surrounded by neighbors, family, friends, or colleagues from work that define community at its best. This is an action – community is something we build and cling to as we all try to navigate through our lives.
The MS National Society reached out for a donation which could be matched and when I consider how much progress has been made in reserch medications, and mindsets with MSers, I support such moves, and I support this community.
I am excited to think about the MS Walks that I plan to do this April and the surge of energy in that action and that community. Thus, I think my expanded definition of community is helping me be content with this incurable friend, and I do have community within.
